The Lebanese Cedar is a highly emotionally charged and by now endangered species. These particular knives (only 6 have been made, all of which differ slightly) use a very special specimen of Lebanese Cedar as handle material.

The wood used stems from a tree that was planted around 1760 in the Windsor Great Park, the former Royal hunting grounds in London, United Kingdom. A few years ago the Cedar was struck by lightning, which is why it had to be cut, thus offering a very rare opportunity to use some of this very special sort of timber.

The knives have been made by APOSL Knives in Sheffield, UK, using Silver Fox 100 stainless steel for the 19.5 cm blade. The blade has been laser etched with the words "Majduhu arzuhu, ramzuhu lil khuloud" in Arabic calligraphy by Taher Mukadam, which translates to "its Cedar, its glory - a symbol of its immortality" a metaphore for Lebanon as a country that forms part of the national anthem of Lebanon.

The handles are made from said Lebanese Cedar, with bog oak bolsters, brass coloured G10 spacers, white G10 liners and brass pins.

Weight: approx. 140 grams

The price mentioned is per knife.
